Another title in the "Aids" series which is aimed at postgraduate paediatricians, particularly those revising for MRCP(Paeds) part 2. Most chapters introduce normal variations and differences from adults in clinical examination and laboratory investigations. Causes are tabulated with special emphasis on the relation of age to the condition, or system involved. The "list" approach has been refined for the third edition, by giving causes in order of frequency for that condition; where possible into common, uncommon and rare categories. The lists have been compiled from standard texts which are comprehensive, but not exhaustive. For this edition, all sections have been revised and less relevant material on the clinical examination removed. A new section on ophthalmology has been added.
Congenital abnormalities and genetics; newborn; growth and nutritional
requirements; puberty; endocrinology; neurology; ophthalmology; behaviour;
respiratory disease; cardiology; gastroenterology; haematology; immunology;
oncology; renal disorders; metabolic disorders; orthopaedics; dermatology;
infectious diseases; community paediatrics; paediatric prescribing; clinical
chemistry; applying for jobs; preparation for the membership examination.
