New Yorkbased sculptor Anne Chu (born 1959) draws on the motif of the putti--angelic cherubs beloved of Italian Renaissance painting--to instigate a dialogue between Western and Asian cultures. Her putti are polychromatic, battered creatures, often suspended midair on poles.
