This book provides a comprehensive and systematic overview of the latest advances in nanomaterials for proteomics, both theoretical and practical. Consisting of seven chapters, it first covers the synthesis methods, characterization, principles, and performance of functional nanomaterials in various branches of proteomics in detail. This is followed by the applications of nanomaterials for the separation and analysis of various proteins and peptides. Given its scope, the book appeals to a broad readership, including those active in proteomics and materials science; it can also serve as a reference book for students majoring in proteomics analysis.
An overview of proteomics and related nanomaterials.- Synthesis and
characterization of nanomaterials.- Application of nanomaterials to
separation of low-abundance proteins.- Application of nanomaterials to
separation of phosphorylated proteins.- Application of nanomaterials to
separation of glycosylated proteins.- Simultaneous application of
nanomaterials to separation of phospho- and glyco-proteins.- Application of
nanomaterials to separation of endogenous peptides.
Nianrong Sun obtained her doctorate from Fudan University at Shanghai in 2017. She worked on the postdoctoral research in Fudan University from July 2017 to July 2019.  Currently, she works as an associate researcher at Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University. Among her current interests are the design and preparation of functional nanomaterials, as well as their application in disease proteomics and disease marker analysis.  Chunhui Deng is a full professor at Fudan University, China; he obtained his doctorate from Fudan University in 2004 and worked as an associate professor at Fudan University from 20062010. Professor Deng's research interests involve the design and preparation of functional nanomaterials, as well as their applications in proteomics, peptidomics, metabonomics, and environmental analysis. He has about 200 publications and is also the editorial board member of several journals. Xizhong Shen receivedhis doctorate from Shanghai Second Medical University in 1995. He worked as an associated professor at Fudan University from 1996 and has been working as a full professor at Fudan University since 2002. His research interests involve the design and preparation of functional nanomaterials, as well as their applications in early diagnosis of liver and gastrointestinal tumors. He has published about 50 review articles and participated in editing about 8 monographs.
