The current volume focuses on all the major concerns associated with the biofungicides and provides comprehensive knowledge of microbial and phytochemical fungicides, bioformulations, regulation as well as limitation of biofungicides, and their role in disease management in plants.

The current volume focuses on all the major concerns associated with the biofungicides and provides comprehensive knowledge of microbial and phytochemical fungicides, bioformulations, regulation as well as limitation of biofungicides, and their role in disease management in plants. The use of biofungicides as eco-friendly alternative to traditional synthetic fungicides is likely to play a major role in organic farming in the future.

Novel Biofungicides: A Note from the Editors. Biofungicides: Classification, Applications and Limitations. Endophytic Bacteria: Plant Growth-promoting Activities and their Application in Plant Disease Control. Beneficial Fungi as a Biocontrol Agent against Fungi. Yeasts as New Powerful Bio-tools for Sustainable Agriculture: Biocontrol of Plant Fungal Diseases and Ecological Implications. Actinomycetes as a Potential Biofungicide. Trichoderma a Promising Biofungicide. Antifungal and Growth-promoting Properties of Bacillus species. Antagonistic Pseudomonas: Alternative to Chemical Fungicides for the Management of Phytopathogens. Lactic Acid Bacteria as Anti-Fungal, Anti-Bacterial Agents and Food Preservatives. Biofungicides for Management of Postharvest Diseases.

Kamel A. Abd-Elsalam, Ph.D., is currently a research professor at the Plant Pathology Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Giza. Kamel earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Plant Pathology from Christian Albrechts University of Kiel (Germany) and Suez Canal University (Egypt). Dr. Kamels research interests include developing, improving, and deploying plant biosecurity diagnostic tools; understanding and exploiting fungal pathogen genomes; and developing eco-friendly hybrid nanomaterials for controlling toxicogenic fungi, plant diseases, and agroecosystems applications. He has published 20 books related to nano-biotechnology applications in agriculture and plant protection. Since 2019, he has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier book series "Nanobiotechnology for Plant Protection." He also serves as the Series Editor of the Elsevier book series "Genome Modified Plants and Microbes in Food and Agriculture."
