Andrea Harries gained experience teaching English in Japan and Colombia and then worked at the University of Cambridge, developing the first suite of UCLES Young Learners exams. Subsequently she spent a year travelling around South America, Brazil and Indonesia conducting teacher training seminars on these new exams. She returned to Colombia to live and there spent three years working in the study abroad business before beginning work on Brainstorm (Brainwave) for Macmillan. She has written other skills based books for Santillana in Colombia. For the last 6 years, Andrea has been running her own language teaching company specializing in courses for both adults and children. Andrea has 3 children who keep her on her toes, but any precious free time is usually spent sailing or playing the piano. Cheryl Pavlik is a contributing author on the series Brainwave.
