This course is designed for those who have never learnt Portuguese before, or those who wish to build on existing skills. It assumes no knowledge of other languages and emphasis is placed on communication skills. The course is based on the Council of Europe's Threshhold guidelines on language learning, and its graded structure includes exercise material. A cassette, recorded by native speakers to accompany the book, is available separately or in a book and cassette pack.
