AMC’s Breaking Bad is among the most beloved, critically acclaimed American television series of our time. Created by Vince Gilligan, the series charts the transformation of high school science teacher Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) into a cold, calculating meth kingpin. Breaking Bad 101 collects esteemed critic Alan Sepinwall’s (Uproxx) popular Breaking Bad recaps in book form, featuring new, exclusive essays and completely revised and updated commentary—as well as insights from and interviews with the creative masterminds behind Breaking Bad. The ultimate critical companion for one of the greatest television dramas of all time, Breaking Bad 101 offers fans Sepinwall’s smart, funny, and incisive analysis of the psychology and filmmaking craft behind each episode and celebrates the series’ unique place in pop-culture history.

Recenzijas

I discovered many things in this book's fascinating and entertaining pages of analysis on the showchief among them is that Alan knows more about Breaking Bad than I do. -- Bryan Cranston The five seasons of Breaking Bad constitute one of the most exhilirating rides in the history of American television, and there's no better companion on that journey than Alan Sepinwall. When it comes to Walt, Jesse, and their Albuquerque adventures, Sepinwall's writing is 99 percent pure. -- Maureen Ryan, television critic for Variety Nobody mapped the broad journey and the intricacies of this show like Alan Sepinwall. Both when I was working on the show and when I was just a fan, his weekly pieces were essential reading. What a treat to now have them in a binge-able 'box set.' -- Rian Johnson, writer and director I appreciate Alan's ability to think like a filmmaker and a storyteller; understanding the motivation of the camera to the arc of a character, he acknowledges every aspect of the storytelling process. Alan's insightful critiques enhance the viewer's experience. -- Michelle MacLaren, director and producer For those of us on the inside, making Breaking Bad was a wild, emotional ride. Through it all, from the cult-show beginnings to the finale, Alan Sepinwall's keen eye and attention to detail made him just about the most perceptive critic writing about the show. Now where's his book on Better Call Saul? -- Peter Gould, writer, director, and producer
