Create a simple block that transforms itself into twinkling stars and lanterns, while also using up your scrap strips and strings. The name of the pattern originates from the early 1900s; its a great design for using up lots of bits of fabric left over from other projects.
You might use one fabric for the star outlines and the border, as this will help to unify all of the other scraps. Or you can create a fun and truly scrappy quilt by not worrying about this and just using scraps!
