This is the second, updated and extended edition of a hugely popular guide to Chandigarh.

Besides being among the newest cities in India, built in the 20th century and characterised by the sweeping architectural vision of Le Corbusier, Chandigarh is a unique city marked by the work of many Indian modernist architects. This insightful guide offers eleven itineraries and specifies 185 buildings and other places to visit, and also includes an index of architects and practical tips for getting around the city. The India & Southeast Asia Architectural Travel Guides Collection introduces ancient, modern, and contemporary heritage and architects in a useful pocket guide format. All projects are presented with maps, photographs, plans, and a descriptive text.
The author, professor Vikramaditya Prakash, grew up in Chandigarh, India. He received his B. Arch. from the Chandigarh College of Architecture, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in History and Theory of Architecture and Urbanism from Cornell University, New York. Dr. Prakash is an architect/urbanist and a historian, and a Professor of Architecture at the University of Washington in Seattle. He has led several interdisciplinary studios to Chandigarh which can be accessed at chandigarhurbalab.org. Dr. Prakash is the host of a popular podcast called Architecture Talk.
