This Festschrift is dedicated to Jean-Bernard Stefani, a leading researcher in the field of component-based software engineering, system modelling, and formal methods for distributed systems.

From 2001 to 2015 Jean-Bernard led first the SARDES research team at Inria Grenoble-Rhōne-Alpes then the SPADES research team, and from 2015 to 2021 he was the Head of Science of the Inria Grenoble-Rhōne-Alpes Research Center. Previously he worked at CNET (Centre National dÉtudes des Télécommunications) and France Télécom R&D. He has been a long-time board member of DisCoTeC, the main conference on Distributed Computing Technologies, and is a past chair of IFIP Working Group 6.1. His current research interests include concurrency theory, reversibility, process calculi, and reactive and distributed programming languages.

In addition to his research and organizational achievements, Jean-Bernard has been an inspiring collaborator, the scope and success of his career is reflected in the contributions to this volume.
