This teaching unit is designed to supplement your students' study of the United States Constitution.
The Constitution: Evolution of a Government includes a booklet containing a teachers guide, a set of reproductions of original documents, and a CD-ROM containing exercise worksheets and digital images of original documents. The documents in this unit are organized under three broad categories, with a total of 20 exercises. "The Making of the Constitution" provides a historical sequence toward the modern Constitution, commencing with the Articles of Association and concluding with one of the most recent amendments to the Constitution, the 26th. "The Beginning of a Government" includes three subsections: Organizing the New Government, Problems Confronting the New Government, and Challenges to the New Government.
