This publication is intended for student teachers at the University of Malta training to teach in primary schools and also practicing primary teachers. It aims to bring together teaching in a number of subjects under the umbrella of a theory of learning known as constructivism. In bringing educational theory closer to practice, the book first tackles constructivism as a theory of learning and its general implications to classroom teaching. The following chapters then illustrate how constructivism can be applied across a number of subjects. Practical examples are given that teachers can use directly or adapt in their teaching. There are seven contributors, all experts in their field, five of whom are from the U.K. The foreword of the book is written by Professor Andrew Pollard from Cambridge University.
