`Long Awaited Superb Book' `An Inspirational Celebration of the Very Finest Gardens to be Found Within one of England's Most Beautiful Regions---The Cotswolds'.

This Long Awaited, Superb Book is an Inspirational Celebration of the very Finest Gardens to be Found within One of England's Most Beautiful Regions---The Cotswolds.
BR>Using evocative text and delightful imagery, Tony Russell brings to life each of the fifty gardens featured, covering their history, plants, architecture and personalities along the way.

The diversity of gardens to be found within the Cotswolds and within this book is quite astonishing. Here you will find grand landscapes such as Blenheim Palace and Dyrham Park, influential pioneers at Iford Manor and Rousham, historical gems such as Prior Park and Painswick Rococo Garden, national icons at Westonbirt Arboretum and Hidcote Manor, contemporary masterpieces at Througham Court and Abbey House and an abundance of English gardens in all their beauty, overflowing with roses, herbaceous borders and pastel shades. All the gardens featured allow public access at sometime during the year.

The Cotswold's Finest Gardens is undoubtedly set to become a classic in its genre, a book that will appeal to gardeners and non-gardeners alike, those who live within the region as well as those who visit.

After studying forestry and horticulture in the early 1980s, Tony Russell's career with plants has taken him from Snowdonia, to the New Forest and then to Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire, where he was Head Forester for 13 years until 2002. Since leaving Westonbirt, Tony has become a familiar face and voice on TV and radio, presenting series such as Garden Trail, Roots & Shoots, Britain's Great Trees, Saving Lullingstone Castle and regularly featuring on BBC Radio 4 including on Gardeners' Question Time.

The Cotswolds' Finest Gardens is Tony's 11th book and follows on from such best-selling titles as The World Encyclopaedia of Trees, Cornwall's Great Gardens, Westonbirt-A Celebration of the Seasons and Tree Spotting for Children. He is also editor of the annual publication Gardens to Visit.

In addition to his broadcasting and writing, Tony runs two thriving consultancy businesses. One offers advice and guidance on choosing, growing and managing trees and the other promotes British gardens and encourages more people to visit them.

Tony is an avid botanical traveller and regularly leads tours for plant enthusiasts across the world including, The Amazon Rainforest, The Himalayas, China, Japan and India.
