The Enterprise Distributed Object Conference emphasizes a holistic view on enterprise applications engineering and management, focusing on integrated approaches to relate processes, people, and technology. In 2008, the conference added a new element to its usual program tracks: the industry track and tutorial presentations. Papers from the conference are presented here, including 27 full-length research papers as well as 16 short papers and various contributions from invited speakers. In addition to the industry track, papers are grouped in sections on enterprise models, business processes, business rules, service engineering, model-based tools, service composition, model-driven engineering, SOA patterns, access control, industrial applications, quality of service, process management, security, and planning and coordination. Some specific topics include federated authentication and authorization, ontology-based business plan classification, and semantic querying of business process models. There is no subject index.
