'Understanding how to implement change in clinical practice'. That was the main part of the work of Promoting Action on Clinical Effectiveness (PACE), a three-year programme involving 16 projects across England. This book has been written by the King's Fund staff who co-ordinated this programme. They show that change is a costly and messy process, but that it can be achieved if there is sound evidence on which to base the work, and if a project approach to managing implementation is adopted.
