A lifelong artist, Laura West Kong discovered the joys of quilting when her daughter, Annika, was too small to be around palettes of wet oil paints. Stacks of fabric seemed a cleaner, safer choice. As Annika grew older, Laura added paints, beads, and other fun embellishments to her quilts.
Laura enjoys creating tiny fabric treasures because they give her the opportunity to try out and complete many different ideas in a limited amount of time. Someday, though, she hopes to make just one really large quilt.
Laura, her husband, Ivan, and their daughter, Annika, live in Loma Linda, California. You can reach her and find out about her latest creations at her website, www.laurawestkong.com.
