Richard Bird has been gardening since childhood and currently maintains a large garden where his abiding passion for plants is very evident. He has contributed to numerous publications and has been magazine editor for Focus on Plants, The Hardy Plant, Alpine Gardening and the Alpine Garden Society's magazine Bulletin. He is also the author of Pruning, Training & Topiary, and The Fruit & Vegetable Gardener and Essential Plants for the Garden (all published by Lorenz Books). Kathy Brown is well known for her imaginative plant combinations, both in the garden and in containers, which demonstrate an artist's eye for colour and texture, as well as an experienced gardener's knowledge of plants. She regularly broadcasts and lectures, and has written a number of books on the subject, including Creative Container Gardening, Create a Cottage Garden and Edible Flowers (Aquamarine). Kathy's own garden is open to the public under the National Garden Scheme and has a starred entry in the Good Gardens Guide.
