This volume contains 450-plus entries written by some 300 authors from a wide range of disciplines and based in 50 countries. The aim is to present a core of concepts and vocabulary to facilitate communication in the field. The entries are signed and are alphabetically arranged, with an index providing detailed access to the contents. Prepared by the Center for Scientific and Applied Programs "Dialog" with the support of the Russian Philosophical Society and other organizations based in Russia and the US. Differing from an earlier volume by the same editors, Global Studies Encyclopedia (2003), the Dictionary contains more entries, and they are briefer, ranging in length from a couple paragraphs to several pages. This work has also been published in Russian. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
