The text bridges the gap between theory and practice by presenting how to apply human-computer interaction methods and tools in specific domains. It will serve as an ideal text for students, professionals, and researchers in the fields of ergonomics, human factors, human-computer interaction, and computer engineering.

This book examines the role of HCI in designing, implementing and using interactive systems and applications across a diverse array of domains. It:

  • Illustrates how HCI is applied across a wide range of real-world scenarios, offering readers a profound understanding of how foundational theories, methods and tools can be adapted to address the unique challenges within each specific context.
  • Crystallizes concepts and approaches into concrete techniques and practices that can be independently applied, irrespective of the particular domain.
  • Explores the evolving landscape of the HCI discipline and identifies the utilities of emerging research topics, driven by the pervasive use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in contemporary application domains.
  • Examines the diversified applications of HCI in response to the growing trend of digital transformation.
