Despite being rooted in the US context this book transcends geographical boundaries. It is written with great insight, scholarship and understanding of design, teaching, learning. But more than this it is written with genuine care and affection for both the subject and the emerging generation of designers and their teachers. This alone makes it a pleasure to read and a book that will enrich all educators in the field of design education. For those new to teaching design to undergraduates it is almost essential reading and will inform their career for many years to come.
