Chan-Meetoo (media and communication, U. of Mauritius) compiles eight articles by anthropology, gender studies, and media scholars and journalists from South Africa, Mauritius, and France. They discuss media ethics and regulation mostly in Africa, including professional ethics in journalism within the context of African culture, ethics and journalism in Mauritius, the South African model of co-regulation, the difficulties in ethical regulation in France (in an article written in French), and the importance of a gender approach to ethics in the media and gender sensitive reporting. The book was inspired by two workshops conducted in Mauritius in October 2012. No index is provided. Distributed in North America by the African Books Collective.
