Berlin presents this concise volume on the aesthetic optimization of Mohs surgery for skin cancer removal. The book is divided into preoperative and postoperative aspects of the process. In part I, the mechanisms of wound healing are discussed in the context of planning the surgical technique to minimize scarring and disfiguration, as well as operative procedure to maximize patient comfort and warning of potential complications. In part II, techniques relevant to the post-operative period are presented, including scar reduction or camouflage by steroid injection, dermabrasion, laser treatment, neuromodulators, bulk fillers, and topical or intralesional therapies. Annotation ©2015 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com) Achieving the best aesthetic results in Mohs and other cutaneous surgery requires proper patient selection, careful surgical technique, and meticulous postoperative care. Yet despite the best efforts of both surgeon and patient, complications may develop, sometimes resulting in suboptimal or objectionable scarring.Mohs and Cutaneous Surgery: Maximizing Aesthetic Outcomes describes in detail the techniques and procedures that help achieve the most aesthetic results in cutaneous surgery. The book covers wound healing, surgical planning, intraoperative techniques, and complications. Also covered are surgical scar revision, dermabrasion, laser scar revision, neuromodulators and fillers, as well as topical and intralesional therapies for the improvement of scars.

Recenzijas

"...a well written review of the techniques available to maximise postoperative outcomes after Mohs and cutaneous surgery ... . For the reasonable price, I would be happy to recommend this book to my trainees." -Hamid Tehrani, Consultant Plastic and Mohs Surgeon, Liverpool, UK in PMFA News
