This book is a collection of reports (reviewed) selected from several sections of the IEEE Nanomaterials: Application and Properties-2023 conference. The book is devoted to the study of films, coatings, and materials obtained by various methods of preparation and deposition, for example, magnetron sputtering of targets, vacuum arc deposition , electron-plasma processing, sintering of composites, plasma jet deposition, and other methods for obtaining nanomaterials. The chapters and reports describe superhard coatings, spark, and plasma alloying of materials (metals, semiconductors, polymers, ceramics).

1. Hard transition-metal diboride coatings.-
2. AlCrNbSiTiN high-entropy nitride hard coatings.-
3. Antiferromagnetic spintronic oscillators: fundamentals and applications.-
4. Terahertz signal detectors based on antiferromagnetic spintronic nanostructures.-
5. Layer-by-layer Chitosan/PCL electrospun membrane loaded with copper nanoparticles as antibacterial wound healing dressing.

Prof. Alexander Pogrebnjak is Professor and Nanoelectronics Department Chair at Sumy State University, Ukraine, and Slovak University of Technology, Bratislava, Slovakia. His scientific interests are related to nanocomposite and layered coatings, high-entropy alloys nitrides, improving of physical-mechanical and chemical properties of materials using nanosized films, and modification of properties of metals and alloys by high-power particle beams. Through his career Prof. Pogrebnjak was Visiting Scientist at Helsinki Technology University (Helsinki, Finland), Trento University (Trento, Italy), Los-Alamos National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories (USA), Portugal Institute de Technology Nuclear (Porto, Portugal), Lublin University of Technology (Lublin, Poland), and University of Poitiers (Poitiers, France). Prof. Pogrebnjak co-authored 12 books and over 300 per-reviewed scientific articles.

Prof. Yang Bing obtained his Ph.D. from the School of Physical Science and Technology of Wuhan University. He is Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin Madison in the USA. He has published nearly 60 SCI papers, and more than 50 national invention patents have been approved. He has presided over more than ten national natural science funds, key research and development plans, and international cooperation projects. He has developed several sets of industrial PVD special coating preparation equipment and coating technology for many enterprises and has good theoretical basis and practical experience in the research of coating materials and coating equipment.

Dr. Martin Sahul holds a degree in materials engineering from the Slovak University of Technology, Bratislava, Slovakia. In 2013, he joined institute of materials science of the Slovak University of Technology. His current research interests include hard and wear-resistant PVD coatings, welding processes, and additive manufacturing. He is Principal Investigator of several national projects dealing with deposition and characterization of nanolayer nitride-based PVD coatings, electron beam welding of hard-to-join dissimilar materials, and wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) of aluminum alloys and stainless steels. He has strong cooperation with industrial partners in analyzing of failures arising in industry from the point of view of materials engineering. Sahul is Author and Co-author of 67 papers published in international journals and has presented his research on international conferences.
