Photography meets painting in this issue of OSMOS, highlighting works by Michael James Fox, Wolfgang Nestler, Cynthia Hawkins and Rachel Feinstein

This is issue 28 of OSMOS magazine, an "art magazine about the use and abuse of photography." It is divided into thematic sections such as "Portfolio," "Stories" and "Reportage," while other sections are more idiosyncratic: in "Eye of the Beholder," gallerists and curators discuss the talents they showcase, while "Means to an End" considers the side effects of nonartistic image production. This issue features, among others: a portfolio of chemically altered photographs by Michael James Fox; essays by Marc Gloede on 1960s landscape photographs by German Land artist Wolfgang Nestler; writer Kenta Murakami on the photographs of Yair Oelbaum, and Adam Simon on the abstract paintings of Cynthia Hawkins; a reflection by curator James Voorhies on an exhibition of paintings by Rachel Feinstein; and urgent and poetic reportage on everyday life in wartime Ukraine by Ira Lupu and Natalia Revko.
