The comprehensive textbook will help readers to develop analytic reasoning of power quality aspects in distribution power systems. It will as an ideal study material for senior undergraduate and graduate students in the field of electrical engineering, electronics and communications engineering.

• Provides explanation of transformations and power theories for single phase and three-phase systems.

• Discusses concepts illustrating power quality aspects in power distribution network.

• Examines detailed derivations and analysis of voltage and current compensation techniques.

• Discusses custom power devices such as DSTATCOM, DVR and UPQC.

• Presents solved examples, theoretical and numerical exercises in each chapter.

This textbook comprehensively covers fundamentals concepts of power quality with the help of solved problems. It provides basic understanding of power quality aspects in power systems, especially in power distribution networks and explains issues related to power quality problems, their quantification, analysis and interpretation. It covers important topics including single phase circuits, three phase circuits, theory of fundamental load compensation, instantaneous reactive power theory, theory of instantaneous symmetrical components, dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) and unified power quality conditioner. Pedagogical features including solved problems and unsolved exercises are interspersed throughout the text for better understanding. The textbook is primarily written for senior undergraduate and graduate students in the field of electrical engineering, electronics and communications engineering for courses on power quality/power system/power electronics. The textbook will be accompanied by teaching resource including solution manual for the instructors.
