This book seeks to represent the main concepts and theories related to psychoneuroimmunology with the aim of their application in clinical settings and formation of novel theories to further elucidate the mutual connection of the psyche and the physiology of humans' body. Psychoneuroimmunology, as an integration of popular research fields such as psychology, immunology, neurology, and neuroscience, is a perfect example of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary studies that could potentially result in developing alternative diagnostic tools and treatment strategies besides facilitating the understanding of the pathophysiology of some conditions that might not properly be understood with a single point of view. Considering the stressful lifestyle and the high prevalence of neuropsychiatric, metabolic, and immune-related disorders, psychoneuroimmunology could be the path to the management of these conditions and reduction of the burden of the diseases.

1 Introduction on psychoneuroimmunology and diseases.- 2 The role of the
immune system in creating depression, PTSD, and psychosis.- 3 The role of
plastizicers in the psiconeuroimmunoendocrinology of pyschiatric disroders.-
4 Immunoinflammatory mechanisms in sex-dependent vulnerability to mental
disorders.- 5 Study of neuroendocrine-immune interactions in major depression
to develop more efficient therapeutic options.- 6 The interaction between the
blood brain barrier and T cells and its implication on psychiatric diseases.-
7 The Integrated Role of Toll-like Receptors and Inflammasomes in
Neuropsychiatric Disorders.- 8 Role of Regulatory Immune Cells in Psychiatric
Disorders.- 9 Cell-mediated immunity in major depressive disorder.- 10

activation).- 11 Immune cells in the choroid plexus: role in nervous and
mental diseases.- 12 Psychoneuroimmunology of Schizophrenia.- 13 Depression
in Parkinsons Disease: A trajectory linking gut microbiota and
neuroinflammation.- 14 Alzheimer's disease: A complex disease, which needs an
interdisciplinary approach.- 15 Alexithymia and Immunity: Where Do We Stand
Today.- 16 Sleep disorders in viral infection/virus-induced inflammation.- 17
Neuroimmune interactions in chronic pain: Focus on microglia and
macrophages.- 18 Neurological and psychological components of
alcohol-dependent states.- 19 Neuroendocrine-immune related content with
implications to development of autoimmunity.- 20 Psychoneuroimmunology of

Activation and Quality of Life in Cancer Patients.- 27 Practical applications
of mindfulness, hypnotherapy and guided visualisation as part of a
psychoneuroimmunological approach in supporting cancer therapies.- 28

evidence of any recommendation in practice).- 29 Neuroinflammation and
behavioral abnormalities during pulmonary tuberculosis, the potential
mechanisms and therapy.- 30 PsychoNeurological and Immunological aspects of
