Charles Darwin (18091882) was an English naturalist, geologist, and biologist who developed the revolutionary theory of evolution by natural selection. His books included On the Origin of Species and The Voyage of the Beagle. Janet Browne is the Aramont Professor Emeritus of the History of Science at Harvard University.
