This textbook covers the fundamentals of reliability theory and its application for engineering processes, especially for aircraft units and systems. Reliability basis was explained for the best understanding of reliability analysis application for engineering systems in aviation industry. Several approaches for the reliability analysis and their application with examples are presented. It also introduces main trends in the modern reliability theory development.

This book will be interested for university students and early-career engineers of aviation industry majors.
1 Basic Concepts and Dependencies of the  Reliability Theory.- 2
Mathematical Base of Reliability.- 3 Non-Repair System Reliability Analysis.-
4 Repair System Reliability Analysis.- 5 Reliability Distribution and
Prediction.- 6 Failure Mode, Effects and criticality analysis.- 7 Fault TREE
analysis.- 8 Reliability Testing.- 9.Risk Analysis of Aircraft Structure and
Systems.
Prof. Youchao Sun has successively served as the deputy dean of the College of Civil Aviation and the deputy director of the Commercial Aircraft Project Cooperation Department in Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), and is now the director of the Reliability and Airworthiness Technology Research Center of NUAA, the head of the national defense characteristic discipline of "Aviation Airworthiness Technology" of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the executive deputy director of "Aircraft Airborne System Airworthiness Engineering Technology Research Center" of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
