This four-volume set collects peer-reviewed proceedings from a June 2012 conference, reporting on the latest research and applications in renewable and sustainable energy.Volume 1 contains sections on development and use of solar, biomass, and wind energy, in areas such as biohydrogen production using anaerobic fermentation at various pH values, wind turbines with magnetic bearings, and offshore wind power generation. Papers in Volume 2 are grouped in sections on nuclear energy and other energy sources, energy storage technologies and storage batteries, energy-saving technology, and hydrogen and fuel cells. Some specific topics include a gear-shift voice-prompt system based on optimal fuel consumption, and bioelectricity generation from wastewaters in microbial fuel cells. Volume 3 contains papers on energy materials and processing technologies, and energy chemical engineering, discussing areas such as thermal fatigue resistance of liquid fuel, and a new additive kinetics model of natural gas hydrate.
