Kalesh Mohanan is a Commander in the Indian Navy as well as a naval historian. He is an alumnus of the Indian Naval Academy, Kerala, India. He was previously Head of the Department (Military and Maritime History) at the Indian Naval Academy (2015-16). He is a recipient of Junior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Historical Research, Ministry of HRD. He has a PhD and has done his Postdoctoral research in naval history from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. He has several publications including Maritime Heritage of India.
