After studying horticulture and environmental management, Michael Lavelle worked as a professional landscaper before starting a career as a horticultural lecturer. He currently works as a senior lecturer at Writtle College in Chelmsford. Michael has designed and constructed several educational exhibits at the Chelsea Flower Show, winning over a dozen medals including three prestigious gold medals. He is a regular author on the subjects of plants, gardening and garden wildlife.
