This work examines all instrumentation systems used in spinal surgery, and provides advice on the differences among systems, reviews how and when to use each system and makes recommendations on when one system should be used over another for optimal results. Stabilization techniques for all procedures of the spine - cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral - are included in step-by-step detail. In addition, indications and contraindictions for spinal fusion techniques are presented, along with instrumentation options.
