You can even find rocks that are shaped like a heart. There are even rocks that cling to a magnet! This book will explain how to start a rock collection, and what you might do with them, such as identifying what kind of rocks they are or even painting on them or creating scenes with their shapes. The book also advises you where NOT to collect rocks, such as certain parks and natural areas. Regardless, this book will inspire the rock hound in all of us.
Linda Kranz and her husband, Klaus, shared with their children the things they found to be important in lifebeing in nature, finding solitude, time together. Now that their children are grown they have taken these lessons to heart and have found that they have a deeper appreciation of the world. Linda is the author of eight journals and a craft book, Lets Rock: Rock Painting for Kids, which won an IRA Childrens Choices Award. Linda lives with her husband in northern Arizona. Together they enjoy discovering new landscapes in and around the Southwest and returning to their longtime favorite places, again and again.
