In a supplement or reference to anyone interested in vision or who is involved with any education for vision, Young and Pidgeon ask and answer questions about all parts of the visual system. They begin with questions about the visual pathway, covering the eye, detection, retinal circuitry, subcortical structures, and cortical circuitry. Then they consider development: fetal development, newborns and infants, and children. In a final section, they look at aging. Altogether the questions take about one-tenth of the book, and the rest is devoted to answers, explanations, illustrations, and references for more information.
