In California, Cynthia Rogerson’s mother is dying. Often. Flying between her home in Scotland and her mother’s deathbed, she candidly recalls her misspent youth, misadventures, and being with her mother.

Cynthia’s mother is dying. Often. Each time she is called from Scotland to her mother’s deathbed in San Rafael, Cynthia recalls hitchhiking to Mexico, living in a squat overseas, train-hopping with her brother, and all the other things she never told her mother. Wonderfully witty and refreshingly candid, Wah! is an unflinching look at life in all its uncertain and messy glory.

Recenzijas

A rich, lyrical text that will show the tears at the heart of things. I devoured Wah! A delicious memoir from the from the much loved ex director of Moniack Mhor Encompasses all the different kinds of love. As poignant as it is hilarious. Witty, rich in revelation, and elegantly written. Wah! is both moving and funny, with a wonderfully light touch - completely charming. A selfie of a tearaway with a real writer in control of the chaos. A wonderful and courageous book. This sparkling memoir is a revelation. Witty, compassionate, playful, scarily honest. Her wisecracks skewer even the bleakest moments. Laugh-aloud funny, poignant, wicked, shallow and profound.
