Bringing together writings from the fields of ethics, philosophy, political theory, sociology, American Indian studies, and law, editors French (ethics and philosophy, Arizona State U.) and Short (a graduate student in philosophy at Arizona State U.) present 20 papers exploring a range of issues of cross-cultural interactions and conflicts. Major topics include the application of just war theory to the geopolitical events following the September 11th attacks, ethical issues of cross-cultural judgments, obligations that current generations may have to the future, and ethical issues that arise in dealings between the majority society of the United States and the native people living within its borders.
