Jing Tiankui holds Ph.D. and is Member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Researcher of the Institute of Sociology, CASS, and Distinguished Professor of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.  He also served as Former Vice-President of the International Society Institute (IIS) from 2001 to2005.  His main research areas include social theory, social policy, sociology of development, and history of Chinese sociology.
