The follow-up to Sarah Thorntons Lapse sees disgraced former lawyer Clementine Jones once again trying to outrun her past, this time on the on the shores of paradiseQueenslands Great Sandy Straits. Bored with a house-sitting gig, Clementine becomes a reluctant recruit to the local environmental group, campaigning to save an endangered turtle as developers close in. When a body of an environmental activist is found at the base of a nearby quarry, Clems world is turned upside down. The police say suicide, but Clems convinced it was murder.
