Not only has medical research been historically remiss in addressing both women's issues and possible therapeutic benefits of cannabis, many of the conditions popularly treated with the herb are gender specific and female predominant. Among them are dysmenorrhea, migraine, fibromyalgia, and a variety of autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. The 12 articles contribute to redressing the neglect. They are also published as Journal of Cannabis Therapeutics v. 2, no. 3/4 (2002). Annotation (c) Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
