Oscar Abolafia (19352020) grew up in New York. He learned the craft from photographer William Vandivert, one of the founders of Magnum Photos. From the 1960s onward, he captured the glitz and glamour of the celebrity world. During his lifetime, Abolafia built an extensive collection of rare, intimate portraits of the greatest icons in entertainment, sports, and politics of the past five decades.
