Advances in the engineering of sensing and acting capabilities, distributed in a wide range of specialized devices nowadays, provide an opportunity for the fundamental advances in computer science made in the past few decades to impact our daily lives. The 27 papers are from seven workshops looking at intelligent environments from the perspectives of artificial intelligence techniques for ambient intelligence, applications of affective computing, future intelligent educational environments, cloud-of-things, reliability, and hyper-realistic intelligent environments. The topics include generating scenario traces for model creation in smart environments, the potential for augmented reality in education, intelligent systems learning from their mistakes, white knights of the smart city, and the physical instantiation of virtual people and components in physical mixed-reality tele-presence environments.
