The author of this memoir is a Fisheries Officer in Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Often writing with a touch of humor, he describes his adventures catching the bad guys of Pacific Northwest Canada’s natural environment, from outrunning poachers in the woods (his marathon experience helped there) to dealing with corporate interests intent on habitat destruction. He gives insight into the politics involved in fisheries and waterways management and the sometimes paradoxical policies inherent in the department’s relationship with Native tribes. The book includes b&w photos. It is distributed in the US by Partners Publishers Group. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
