Andrew Steffen's setting of Christina Rosetti's poem Echo is both contemplative, yet passionate. With lyricism at its heart, this piece moves between unison, canon, and homophonic harmony, guiding the listener through the emotional ebbs and flows of longing, nostalgia, and lost love.
Andrew Steffen is a conductor and composer whose works are frequently featured at reading sessions and conventions across the US. His compositions have won several prestigious competitions including the Raymond W. Brock Student Composition Competition. Steffen holds a Masters degree in Choral Conducting from Oklahoma State University, where he studied with Dr Z. Randall Stroope, and a Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Steffen serves as a Choir Director in Dallas--Fort Worth, Texas.
